Get Inside Your Donor’s Mind! Science-Based Strategies for Better Fundraising

What do Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, the Discover IT card, and successful fundraising all have in common? They’re all based on understanding how peoples’ brains work and how they make decisions. Product developers and for-profit marketers have all kinds of insight into what inspires people to buy a product. These scientific approaches have been used by the world’s largest brands…now it’s your turn. You can use these strategies today without a huge marketing budget, extensive testing (and waiting), or guesswork to raise more money or get more volunteers.

Join this session to learn how! Our speaker, Cherian Koshy, is the Director of Development for the Des Moines Performing Arts and is the world’s only Certified Mind Genomics Advisor in the nonprofit sector. That means he has extensive experience understanding how donors think, how they make decisions, and how to use market research and other tools to get donors and volunteers to say “YES!” In this session, he shares:

  • Marketing principles from the world’s most successful companies (and how to apply them to your campaigns!)
  • Strategies you can use to get inside your donors’ minds and understand how to connect with them
  • How understanding your donors’ brains will make you a better fundraiser
  • Data-backed marketing insights you can apply to your own nonprofit

If you’ve ever wished you could read your donors’ minds, you’ll love this session! You don’t have to be a neuroscientist to understand how your donors’ brains affect their decision to support your nonprofit—Cherian will show you how you can do it, too.
